About Us
Theatre 62, is one of Bromley’s leading amateur dramatic societies, and has its own theatre - Wickham Theatre Centre - located in Corkscrew Hill, West Wickham. As our name implies we were founded in 1962 with the merging of the West Wickham Amateur Dramatic Society and the Actories. We moved to the current premises in 1972. Prior to that our performances had been in public halls.
We put on a varied programme of five productions a year, each running for six performances with the occasional matinee thrown in for good measure. Most productions play to full houses – 80 in conventional layout and just under 100 when we go into the round. We set high standards and regularly win awards in the Bromley Theatre Guild’s Full Length Play Festival – The Ghost Train was this year’s entry. As we operate as a private club our audiences are limited to members and their guests. As well as the auditorium we have a rehearsal room, a licensed bar and extensive wardrobe, scenery, property and furniture stores. Our auditorium is equipped with an induction loop for hearing aid users.

Theatre 62 is the production arm of Wickham Theatre Trust (a Registered Charity) which is responsible for the overall operation of the Wickham Theatre Centre. There are few days when the centre is not being used either by Theatre 62 or one of our affiliated organisations.

We are located in Corkscrew Hill, West Wickham, with excellent public transport links. West Wickham station is 10 minutes walk away whilst the 119 bus (linking Bromley South and East Croydon station) stops outside. Other nearby buses link with the Croydon Tramway.
