It is Ida’s 86th birthday and the family are celebrating with a party. Ida has Alzheimers and many other ailments associated with old age. She knows little about what is going on around her. Katherine, her eldest daughter has promised to help her into the next world when the time comes and Ida has decided that it has. The result of this mercy killing is both painful and moving but also hilarious and provoking. The family are completely inadequate to cope.

The play is set in the late 80’s in an inner city Victorian house.
